Well PVC Pipe Fitting

Polaris’ PVC threaded cap is a durable, corrosion-resistant fitting made of polyvinyl chloride, primarily used to seal off the end of a male-threaded pipe in cold water pressure systems. It features female NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads for a secure, tight-fitting connection and can be installed without the need for solvent cement, allowing for easy removal and maintenance.
Key Specifications and Features
Material: Made from high-strength, rigid PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for durability, chemical resistance, and less weight than metal fittings.
Size: Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) is 2 inches, designed to fit a standard 2-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe, which actually has an outside diameter of approximately 2.375 inches (60.32mm).
Connection Type: Features Female Iron Pipe Thread (FIPT) or Female NPT connections, designed to screw onto a male-threaded pipe end for a secure seal.
Pressure Rating: Typically rated for a maximum operating pressure of around 270-280 PSI (pounds per square inch).
Temperature Rating: Suitable for use in systems where the temperature will not exceed 140°F (60°C).
Applications: Commonly used in potable water systems (NSF certified), irrigation, underground sprinkler systems, and swimming pool applications. It is not intended for use with gas or compressed air applications.
Standards: Meets ASTM D1784 and D2466 standards for quality assurance.
