Auger System Accessories

Polaris’ Auger system accessories encompass a range of essential components used for connection, extension, and specialized functions in both solid and hollow stem drilling, from cutter bits to handling tools. These accessories enhance the versatility and performance of auger rigs in various soil conditions.
Essential Drilling Accessories:
Auger Bits/Teeth: The primary cutting tools responsible for breaking up soil or rock. They come in various types (e.g., carbide-tipped, fishtail, claw) and are replaceable, allowing operators to match the bit to the specific ground conditions.
Extensions: These are additional sections that bolt or lock onto the auger string, increasing the overall length and drilling depth of the auger system when required.
Adapters & Subs: Connect different components with varying thread or shank types (e.g., hex shank to round drive, or connecting internal center rods to the drive cap). Saver subs are used to protect more expensive parts, like the rig’s top drive, from wear and tear.
Pilot Bits/Plugs: Used in hollow stem augers to seal the central opening during drilling, preventing soil and water from entering the casing. They are held in place by center rods and can be removed at the desired depth for sampling or well installation.
Drive Caps: These sturdy components fit onto the top of the auger string and interface with the drill rig’s power head, transferring the rotational force to the augers
